This is the most underrated aspect of wellness (in my opinion)

& a special sneak peek inside 👀

Howdy friend!

Since I last emailed you, I’ve been thinking about how intentionally carving out time to play and infuse creativity into our lives is one of the most underrated aspects of wellness.

What you might not know (or make time for) is that engaging in small acts of creativity sprinkled throughout your day or week can reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression and even help process trauma.

I’m not talking about creativity associated with work projects.

I’m talking about being creative just for yourself

Here are some examples of how I intentionally infuse creativity into my days and weeks to improve my mental wellness:

  • Writing - I am a journaling fiend. I use several writing techniques to mentally and emotionally process, build my confidence, encourage unrestrained self-expression, problem-solve, and feed my imagination. The biggest benefit? My mood and sense of well-being are always better when I write.

  • Photography - If you don't already know, photography is a passion of mine. Lately, I’ve loved self-portraits as a tool for expansion, self-expression, and greater self-awareness.

  • Cooking - I love experimenting and finding fun ways to boost my meals' flavor profile and nutritional content by adding veggies, fruits, herbs, nuts/seeds, etc. 

Writing, photography, cooking, and (most importantly) intentionally carving out time to be creative positively influence my physical and mental health and overall fulfillment.

I hope this helps reframe creativity!

…That creativity is a crucial aspect of your overall health and well-being that is incredibly beneficial to prioritize.
